Volunteers are crucial to our team!
The work of our volunteers is invaluable in supporting our consumers across the organisation and in our community. Our volunteers work across Colac Area Health in many departments, including:
- Aged Care
- Palliative Care
- Neighbourhood House
- Miller House
- Birregurra Community Health centre
Colac Area Health supports our volunteers by:
- Providing a comprehensive orientation in their designated area
- Training for their role and in the department or Ward
- Aligning the individual’s skills and abilities to the operational requirements
- Including them as part of the team and comfortable within our workplace
- Respecting the individual’s own time ie. Volunteer when they can

We are seeking volunteers who

- Are reliable, punctual and professionally presented
- Are keen to be part of a team and can take direction from a supervisor
- Will undertake mandatory training as required
- Are willing to commit to Colac Area Health and its policies and procedures
Next Steps to becoming a Volunteer
If you are interested, simply complete the Application Form. We will then contact you for a face to face interview and your references contacted. If you are successful we will require the following:
- To sign a Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, a Statutory Declaration and media release agreement (optional)
- To undertake a Police Check (paid for and completed by Colac Area Health)
- Apply for a ‘Working with Children’ check (if needed)
- To attend an Orientation session. You’re then ready to start!
