Dignity of Risk is a 15 min short film/documentary featuring an encounter between Prof Joe and a patient, Mr Jones, who has recently been diagnosed with dementia. The file raises questions relating to either protecting Mr Jones from harm or intruding on his choices to enjoy his life.
Internationally recognised film Festival. The film won ‘Best Narrative Film Category’ at the 2017 Global Impact File Festival (GIDC) a dynamic independent film festival in Washington, DC, USA.
Following the film there is a panel discussion with the filmmakers and other health professionals working with people with dementia. The event is sponsored by Dementia Training Australia, Monash University.
