TACT PROGRAM

The TACT Program (Trauma-Informed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is an 8-week, evidence-based group program for women who identify as having experienced family violence and/or sexual violence. This program is run as a partnership between Colac Area Health and the SAFV Centre in Geelong.

This program provides participants:

  • Practical tools and skills in mindfulness and emotional regulation to manage symptoms of trauma.
  • Psycho-education about the impacts of trauma on the brain, body and behaviour.
  • Information about family violence and sexual violence.
  • Opportunity to build connections with other victim/survivors in the community, helping them to feel less alone.

Important information:

  • TACT generally runs annually every Tuesday morning from the start of October to the start of December.
  • Childcare and light refreshments are provided

Cost:

There is no cost to the program.
