The Child and Family Counselling Program provides a diverse range of counselling and support services for children aged four to twelve years of age.
Referrals are received via Orange Door at Colac Area Health and the appointed Counsellor carries out an assessment and formulates a therapy plan for the child in consultation with the parents/carers.
The Program is culturally sensitive, respectful, supportive, child and family centred.
Counselling episodes and intensity are tailored to and dependent on meeting the client’s needs including where appointments take place, either in the clinic or in a community setting. The program delivers a safe and welcoming environment for children and families and is a public health funded service – there is no cost to the family.
