Accreditation

Accreditation is an evaluation process that involves assessment by qualified external reviewers to assess our compliance with safety and quality standards. This includes:

National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.

The NSQHS Standards were developed by the Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care. Their purpose is to provide a nationally consistent standard of care for consumers attending any health service organisation across Australia.  Robust processes have been established throughout Colac Area Health to ensure we not only meet these standards but strive to exceed them. For further information refer to links below.

Australian Aged Care Quality Standards (AACQA)

In Australia, residential aged care homes are required to be accredited to receive Australian Government subsidies.

Corangamarah, our residential aged care facility, continually provides exceptional care to our residents and is continually monitored by AACQA to ensure we meet the resident needs. For further information refer to links below.

The Home Care Standards apply to care provided in a person’s own home or the community delivered under the Commonwealth Home Support (CHSP), and Home and Community Care (HACC) Programs.

Human Service Standards

Human Service Standards are under our  Family and  Community Services program  where staff assist with protection of their consumers by ensuring the lives of vulnerable Victorians are enhanced through the delivery of services which promote safety and wellbeing, and reduce risk of harm.

Child Safe Standards

Colac Area Health is committed to becoming a recognised child safe organisation. There are seven standards to guide us to become a certified Child Safe Organisation. A child safe organisation creates a culture in which staff, volunteers, parents, carers and children feel confident, enabled and supported to safely disclose child safety concerns.
