Colac Area Health held it’s first Research Symposium on Wednesday, 27 April 2022, welcoming attendees from all over Victoria.
There were 10 presentations covering Colac Area Health research on nutrition, health promotion, surgery, the impacts of COVID-19, domestic violence, innovation in social work practice, along with presentations from Deakin University’s Deakin Rural Health and Institute for Health Transformation Directors.
There were two CAH staff members who were recognised for their research work including:
Research Impact Award:
Cara Hill (Speech Pathologist) -this award recognises the research project that has had the greatest impact on patient care, community health or another related health outcome for the Colac Area Health community.
Researcher of the Year:
Peter Kelly (Regional Liaison Officer – Strengthening Hospital Responses to Family Violence Initiative, Colac Area). This award recognises the most outstanding researcher at Colac Area Health in 2021.
