More than 120 diners caught up with family and friends for Colac Area Health Foundation’s “Longest Lunch” Fundraiser on Friday, 14 January 2022 in support of a great cause.
The event took place at the scenic Lake View Café during the RL Nationals Yachting Regatta. Guests enjoyed a birds-eye view of the race as well as a scrumptious meal, designed by Chef Teghan Fraser, who worked to create a unique menu sourced and donated entirely from local suppliers.
Wines from local vineyards Red Rock, complemented the meal as did the beers from Bells Beach Brewing and Spirits from the event’s Presenting Partner, Otway Distillery.
Local musicians and entertainers GazJaz Trio added to the day’s vibrant atmosphere where more than $9,000 was raised to support the purchase of essential equipment for Colac Area Health.
Colac Area Health Foundation, Executive Officer, Minnie Constan said “Colac is a tight knit community and given the challenges of the past couple of years, one thing for certain is how much they have banded together in appreciation and support of our local hospital.
“The purpose of our events is to give back to the community who give us so much in support. Colac’s Longest Lunch raised much needed funds for our health service and celebrated the makers, producers and growers of our area” Ms Constan said.
This unique event will form part of the annual fundraising calendar for Colac Area Health Foundation and is expected to grow each year.
