Nominations are open now. Young people … nominate your peers. Adults you are most welcome to nominate young people as well. The award categories are – Sports, Arts, Business, Community, Environment, Inspirational and Open/Great Mate.
Please read through the nomination pack attached if you would like to nominate a young person for an award.
The nominations close 29 March at 4 pm. You can submit your nomination form in one of the nomination boxes in participating businesses in the shire, or email it directly back to me. If you would like to have a nomination box and nomination forms available at your school or work place please get in touch. Each category winner will receive a prize and all nominees will receive a certificate of nomination presented to them at the event.
A bus service may be available to those living outside of Colac (Forrest, Apollo Bay, Lavers Hill) so please get in touch soon if young people in your community are keen to attend.
Musicians aged between 14-25 are wanted who would like to showcase their talents at this event. It will be a paid gig and they will need to contact Scarlett directly either by phone – 5232 5520 or by email to secure an audition on Sunday, 24 March.
The event will take place in Victorian Youth Week along with the YMCA Barwon South West Skateboard, Scooter and BMX Competition on 13 April at the Colac Skate Park.
In the following week, there will be two art workshops for young people to design a Youth Health Hub logo guided by a local artist. These sessions will run on 15 and 18 April and participants will go in the running to win a big art pack prize, and have their logo used on all Youth Health Hub advertisements and social media.
All events/activities are free for young people to participate.
