A short term support service for people experiencing difficulties with their level of alcohol and/or drug use.
Who do we assist?
Anyone in the Colac Otway Shire region having problems with alcohol, tobacco or other drugs. This includes people affected by the substance use of others (family, partner, others).
Program objectives include:
• Deliver early intervention services for individuals and/or their family members concerned about substance use
• To provide a consultation/referral point for non-AOD services
• Integrate and coordinate early intervention services with primary health, community and emergency services
Criteria for referral:
• Adults or children from age 16;
• Any identified substance use
Priority will be given to:
• People with an identified vulnerability such as socio-economic, family stress, housing, disability, anxiety/depression, GLBTIQ, CALD and ATSI communities
Referral Sources:
• Healthcare Sector- GP Clinics (Preferable), Hospital-Internal referral
• Welfare, Education, Employment or Justice Sector
• Self-referrals
• Family members
